‧Some tips for applying flexible zippers

1.	How to decide the required measurement of the flexible zipper? It is the length along the edge of fabric panel excluding seam allowance.
2.	Are flexible zippers pre-curved before sewing? No, all of flexible zippers are straight before sewing. Sewing the straight flexible zipper along the curved edge of fabric panel then set by steam iron.
3.	How to sew flexible zipper smoothly and flatly on fabric panel? It involves the character of fabric, sewing/ironing skills and how sharp they will be curved.
	a.	Fabrics: stretchy and loose fabrics get flat appearance and easy sewing. On the contrary, rigid and high density fabrics are a little difficult to sew.
	b.	Sewing:
		*	To make the fabric seam allowance and the zipper tape be the same width.
		*	At least, one side of sewing stitch has to be sewn as nearly as to the edge of zipper coil to get the shape correctly.
		*	Marks on the fabric seam allowance and marks on the zipper tape must be met correctly during sewing.
		*	Making notches on the fabric seam allowance at the place of turn to get the best appearance, but there are no notches in need on zipper tapes.
	c.	Ironing: Flexible zippers can be set flat and smooth by the steam iron, the iron temperature is chosen by the fabric type. Please try the fabric first to obtain the right temperature for safety.
		Iron steps:
			--To flatten the rear side of zipper first, iron the front side later.
			--Wear the sock on the iron to prevent shining look on the fabric if necessary.
4.	Why aicare’s zipper can be flexible? The zipper tapes are stretchy which obtained by the stretchy yarn and the special warp knitting. This is a very neat and simple design to get the best function of stretch. 100% polyester, no rubber or spandex filaments in it.
